Communication errors, troubleshooting |
| How to detect communication errors and troubleshooting. This is common to both DDEdrive and ICE |
|
On the bottom status line in
ICE and DDEdrive the communication status is displayed. |
|
| Reading from the PLC | |
| Read was successful. Waiting for the next read from the PLC | |
| Error in communication to the PLC If you get the message Tag error, you have deleted a tag from the tag database, that is in use in one of the open HMI windows. |
|
|
|
|
|
Connect your PLC programming software to the PLC and make sure that the connection works. Also note the communication parameters. |
|
|
When this works, note the communication parameters of the serial port and close the application |
|
|
Start ICE or DDEdrive and recheck the setup of serial port and that the correct driver is selected. |

Disconnect the communication |

Open the Communication setup |

Select
the PLC driver you are using, from the list of drivers and check the Error
logging checkbox to enable error logging for that driver. Errors will
now be logged to a file. Click the OK button. |

Select
the Error log tab and view what kind of communication errors that
is present. This might help you detecting what is wrong. |
